At Newell Brands, I collaborated with the e-commerce team to enhance user account dashboards. By leveraging customer insights and user data, we designed an improved experience that simplifies navigation, increases visibility, and aligns with accessibility standards. The design is slated for launch in 2025, serving users across Newell's extensive brand portfolio.

IDENTIFYING THE ISSUE
The current experience provides little to no informational value
Newell serves thousands of customers daily across their e-commerce sites. Analysis using user interviews, click-through heatmaps, and behavioral data from FullStory revealed a significant drop-off in user engagement when accessing personal information and order details from their account dashboards.
A lack of visibility in order history on initial clicks can lead to clickthrough fatigue, particularly among older consumers.
The lack of navigation between sections of the dashboard without redirecting to the main page hampers user journeys.

The main challenge? Crafting a flexible solution for Newellβs 10+ eCommerce brands that could juggle content integration and stick to brand guidelines. The secret weapon? We just... asked them. I led lightning sessions and ideation demos with product owners to hash out the details, tackle stakeholder concerns, and rally everyone around a unified design direction.

USER TESTING ALTERNATIVES
With the support of Newell's UX research team, we conducted more than 40 user tests across both mobile and web platforms. These tests allowed us to analyze how users interacted with various design elements, to identify the causality factors behind specific behaviors, and gain insights into their needs and preferences during the test experiences.
